During a Injury Consultation/Treatment session I.M.P Sports Therapy will analyse your signs and symptoms to understand your injury and set up a treatment plan to get you back to doing what you do best, whether that’s sprinting up the wing or putting on your socks.
I.M.P Sports Therapy will not only look at the primary injury but look into the possible cause of the injury in the surrounding muscular chain which can then be used to further assist recovery and help prevent the injury from reoccurring.
Depending on your needs and requirements of your specific injury a Injury Consultation/Treatment session could include Sports Massage, Deep Tissue Massage, Joint Mobilisations and Rehabilitation exercises in the gym.
This is a general Sports Massage to help those slightly stiff muscles stay in good shape. The Full Body Massage is designed for people with a physical job or who play sports regularly and want to keep there bodies in good shape. These are great for athletes who want to cool down after a hard training session.
For active people who push there bodies ether through sports/gym work or have tough physical jobs I recommend having a Full Body Massage a month. Full Body Massages can aid the removal of scar tissue or tight areas from previous injuries, as well as assisting increases in flexibility.
A Problem Area Massage is for a designed to target a specific area or joint that needs work. During a Problem Area Massage, we will pay more attention to the area of injury found in the Injury Consultation/Treatment session as part of your treatment plan.
The Kinesio® Taping Method is a taping technique which is used in the rehabilitation process. The Kinesio® Taping Method can be used in many ways depending on your symptoms and all different stages of your rehabilitation.
By targeting different receptors within the somatosensory system (The somatosensory system is a complex system of nerve cells that responds to changes to the surface or internal state of the body), Kinesio® Tape alleviates pain and facilitates lymphatic drainage by microscopically lifting the skin.
Sports taping is use to support a joint that has previously been injured or weakened. The tape will create increased support throughout the rehabilitation process.
