I.M.P Sports Therapy- Ian Padget MSc

Hi, I’m Ian and I live just outside of Hailsham, with my wife, Georgie, and dog, Podrick! I have been working as a sports therapist for 7 years and am really pleased to have impacted on so many peoples lives in this time!

I grew up in East Sussex, and was a very active child. Sport consumed my day to day life. I succeeded in obtaining my Black Belt (3rd Dan) by the age of 16, this discipline was accompanied by a passion for what is now my main sport, Rugby. Having played Rugby since the age of 11, I know all about the aches and pains after games and have suffered a range of injuries ranging from common to serious. All of which I have rehabilitated myself back from to play at 100% capacity again. My passion for helping people is transferred to my job as a Sports Therapist as together we work to stop injuries holding you back and focus on how to move forward.

I completed a Foundation Degree and an Undergraduate Degree at Hartpury College in Gloucester. My elected majors were in Sports Studies and Sports Science. My undergraduate degree gave me good background knowledge of the aspects surrounding athlete care: Sports Therapy, Sports Nutrition, Coaching and Strength and Conditioning.

I obtained my Masters degree in Sports Therapy from London Metropolitan University in 2016, I am incredibly proud of the education basis this provided me with and I take it upon myself to keep relevant with sporting science, information and the latest techniques with constant peer learning. I am also qualified in Medical Acupuncture which is a fantastic addition to my skill set.

Although the word ‘sport’ is in my title, my services are not limited to those who play a sport. I also provide treatments for people with longer term chronic pain, daily aches and people who generally want to feel energetic and in control of their bodies. I feel very passionately about helping people to live a pain free life and can work to increase mobility and aid general wellbeing.

I run my clinic from GL Fitness in Hailsham. I have links with my rugby team Eastbourne RFC and local Karate club CMA Karate.
